International air links

Seychelles International Airport is regularly served by international airlines linking Seychelles with UK (London Heathrow), France (Paris), Singapore, Italy (Rome), South Africa (Johannesburg), Mauritius, Dubai, Qatar (Doha), Kenya (Nairobi) and Thailand (Bangkok).

In addition to the national carrier, Air Seychelles [www.airseychelles.net], the international airlines providing these connections are Kenya Airways, Air Austral, Condor, Air Mauritius, Qatar and Emirates Airlines. In addition, Air Seychelles joint flight agreements provide direct links to Rome, Milan, Paris and Mauritius.

Seychelles also welcomes visitors in their private aircraft. Application should be made to the Directorate of Civil Aviation (DCA) at the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA), [www.scaa.sc], prior to arrival in order to obtain permission and to receive information on landing runways and formalities.

Victoria Harbour

Seychelles has shipping connections with most parts of the world. A number of shipping lines use Seychelles for transshipment purposes, with ships coming into the commercial harbour from Europe, the Far East and South Africa.

Port Victoria, one of the deepest port in the region, is now under the management of the Seychelles Port Authority, [www.spa.sc] , an independent entity which is in line with the International Maritime Organisation (IMO). This will better facilitate the modernisation and expansion of the Port facilities and services and hence help to make Port Victoria the most competitive and efficient Port in the Region. In line with the international regulation, Port Victoria has been declared safe by the IMO based on the new International Ships and Port Facility Security (ISPS) code.

Port Victoria is equipped with modern cargo handling equipment including mobile cranes, front-end handlers/reach stackers, container handling forklifts, specialised terminal tractors and trailers, and self-loading container trucks. The terminal has a total area of 9,600 square meters and covered storage space of 6,600 square meters. With an extensive space for container handling, it handles almost all of the nation’s external trade and plays host to many cruise ships.
